U.S. Congressman, Rob Andrews, who has represented New Jersey’s 1st Congressional District in Burlington, Camden and Gloucester counties since 1990, visited Prism Career Institute Cherry Hill campus recently and spoke about America’s need to train workers in growing career areas.
“I’m worried about our students and our country,” Andrews said. “Five years from now American companies will create 5 to 7 million jobs that we won’t be able to fill. Some of these jobs in healthcare are jobs that Prism Career Institute is training for. I was at Manor Healthcare today and they told me that they just got some great, terrific Practical Nursing hires from Prism.”
Andrews is a ranking member of the House Committee for Education and the Workforce. The Congressman has a long history of support for education efforts in South Jersey which has resulted in helping the area receive re-training funds for the unemployed and laid off residents. He noted that employers need to have more say in government funding and training outcomes and there should be no solution to the country’s training challenges that does not include career training schools.
“Let’s find people who are educating the public the right way and make it easy for them to do it,” Andrews said.
Prism Career Institute also has campuses in NE Phila. and Upper Darby, PA and West Atlantic City, NJ.
